I’ve previously commented on the Focus’s need for refills inside 400 miles per tank, but the distance-to-empty trip computer isn’t helping things with its wildly optimistic predictions of up to 450 miles a fill. Leaving Sussex recently for Bristol, the range computer told me I had enough petrol to comfortably make it. A congested M25 later, and it wasn’t even going to be close, so I had to refuel at an extortionately priced motorway service station to complete the journey. But that’s the kind of mistake you only make once, and, despite this issue I’m still really going to miss the Ecoboost engine once our time together ends.
