I've discovered a great little feature on our A6, which I'd have known about sooner if I'd read the manual. Anyway, the square radio preset panel changes when you start entering a navigation destination, and you can write the letters onto the touchpad rather than scrolling round to enter them using the large central dial.
Admittedly it looks like it's been written by a five-year old, but the recognition software is almost faultless, unless my writing gets really untidy, and it's easily the quickest way of entering a destination I've ever encountered.
