The start point for the best source of fleet information

Our Fleet Test Drive: Mazda CX-3 - 14th report

Date: 29 March 2016   |   Author: Tony Rock

Equipment: 6 airbags, satnav, DAB radio, auto lights and wipers, climate control, heated front seats, rear privacy glass, rear parking sensors, cruise control, city brake system, lane departure warning
Options: Ceramic metallic paint (£540)

That's the view I had through the CX-3's windscreen on a few winter's mornings. When the temperatures went south, the car's glass became prone to condensation - not only first thing in the morning, but also when the car was full of people.

In the first instance, the Mazda could have done with quick-clearing windscreen tech, such as Ford's, because, particularly when you're in a rush, it feels like it takes an age for the water droplets to clear. In the second instance, the speed at which the aircon fans operate had to be kept relatively high to prevent the windscreen from fogging over again, making for a noisy and, in terms of climate control, slightly uncomfortable interior.

Verdict

  • The simplicity of the interior
  • White exterior paintwork and winter don't go great together, do they?
