The start point for the best source of fleet information

Our Fleet Test Drive: Mazda CX-3 - 15th report

Date: 11 April 2016   |   Author: Tony Rock

Equipment: 6 airbags, satnav, DAB radio, auto lights and wipers, climate control, heated front seats, rear privacy glass, rear parking sensors, cruise control, city brake system, lane departure warning
Options: Ceramic metallic paint (£540)

I tried the CX-3's voice control on the way to my nearest tube station the other day and it worked a treat. It's activated via a button on the steering wheel beneath the volume control (pictured), and it enabled me to engage the telephone and enter a number to make a call.

I tried it out because I was stuck in traffic, and hit upon the idea of saving time by paying for my parking space by credit card over the phone while on the way, rather than waiting until I arrived and risk missing the train

The system responds to intuitive commands, such as 'go back' when a digit is incorrect, and meant I made my train with a couple of minutes to spare.

Verdict

  • The simplicity of the interior
  • White exterior paintwork and winter don't go great together, do they?
