Given my second-favourite station is Radio 5, it didn't take long to discover that AM on the Superb's stereo wasn't picking up any stations.
So I contacted my local Skoda garage, Camberley Service Centre, and the car was booked in for a while-you-wait hour-long appointment within three days of my call.
On the day, it took 90 minutes to diagnose that a new stereo was needed, which was covered by the warranty
I returned to the garage when the new stereo arrived. After another 90 minutes consuming the garage's free wi-fi and coffee, the new unit was in, but still no AM. So the garage booked the car in for a longer investigation, using the collect and deliver option.
This time the dealer started by reprogramming the new unit again - involving connecting the car to Skoda HQ over the internet - which worked.
Oh, and if you're wondering, my favourite station is BBC 6 Music, but that's only on digital radio, which is about the only modern goody not fitted as standard to the Superb.
