Mazda has unveiled the new third-generation version of its CX-5 medium SUV.

The new model will come with a 2.5-litre petrol engine, with 24V hybrid technology, producing 141hp, and with either front-wheel drive or four-wheel drive.

It will have a towing capacity of up to 2,000kg, and feature brake-by-wire technology.

The interior features Google-based infotainment, delivered via a 12.9in or 15.6in infotainment display, with customisable menus, and there’s a 10.25in digital instrument cluster. Higher-spec models will feature a panoramic sunroof and a 12-speaker Bose sound system.

Compared with the outgoing CX-5, boot space is increased by 61 litres.

There will be a choice of Prime-Line, Centre-Line, Exclusive-Line, and Homura equipment grades.

The new CX-5 is due to arrive in the UK from Summer 2026. Full specs and prices are yet to be announced.
