Exterior
Octavia and Superb estates have both proved popular in fleet, in their specific segments, since launch. Now, Skoda is looking to the future of its electrified estates, with the new Vision O concept. Revealed at the Munich motor show, the Vision O also previews the next generation of the manufacturer’s ‘Modern Solid’ design language.
The exterior of the Vision O is characterised by its clean and simple lines. It is 4,850mm long, 1,900mm wide, and 1,500mm in height, giving this Skoda a spacious and aerodynamic profile, which is optimised for maximum efficiency and results, Skoda claims, in a longer range – even over significant distances.
The side of the Vision O also features a distinctive B-pillar, which Skoda describes as a characteristic feature of the car, designed to emphasize its ample space for passengers and luggage. This design element incorporates a trapezoidal detail, representing the hook element from the Skoda brand name. We were also told that the C-pillar is designed to optically extend the car’s cabin, in combination with tinted windows.
The front of the car features louvers that actively channel excess air towards the wheels. The wheels themselves are fully aerodynamically optimised, which along with the retractable door handles also contributes to improved airflow. Additionally, the bonnet has two ventilation openings that reduce aerodynamic drag and divert rainwater from the windshield.
Then there’s the completely new ‘Tech-loop’ face mask, with Skoda ‘Cyber Lights’ in the front of the car, giving the Vision O a completely new look. Sliding main headlamps are part of the welcome and goodbye animations, along with an illuminated Skoda logo on the bonnet. Animated indicators are fitted in the main headlamps, wings and the wing mirrors, that also work as signal lights while the car is in autonomous drive mode.

At the rear, the Vision O has a T-shaped LED light motif, with animated indicators that reference the ‘Modern Solid’ design language. Along with an illuminated Skoda logo, the Vision O badging, and a continuous line that connects to the ‘Tech-loop’ face mask at the front.
Interior
If the exterior of the Vision O is an evolution of current Skoda family styling cues, the interior is a revolution. Also reflecting a new generation of ‘Modern Solid’ design language, unusually this vehicle was developed from the inside out – entirely from the customer’s perspective. As a result, Skoda claims every aspect of the interior meets the highest standards of comfort, usability, and technological integration, with designers carrying this out before shaping the exterior. The driver’s and passengers’ experience are prioritised as a result, equalling, Skoda says, a harmonious, intuitive, and functional design that seamlessly integrates with the exterior look.
The Vision O also demonstrates a completely new HMI layout, including the new customisable Skoda Horizon Display for both front passengers. 1.2 metres long, it runs across the entire width of the dashboard, and places essential information directly in the driver’s field of vision. Much like the interior of the latest BMW iX3 with its Panoramic iDrive, it is complemented by a vertical central screen. The symmetrical, minimalist design features a centre panel with a haptic dial button to control key functions. New Skoda Bio-Adaptive Lighting enhances the serene and sophisticated atmosphere within the cabin.

This Skoda concept’s interior also majors on advanced technologies, including autonomous driving capabilities and a versatile Tranquil mode, enhancing safety and passenger comfort. Skoda has also integrated new AI features, with Laura, the personal assistant, providing journey guidance, helping with everyday tasks, and enhancing the driving experience. The Vision O app also introduces Skoda’s vision of its future mobile ecosystem, with the MySkoda app offering a new AI route planner.
Typically for a Skoda estate, there’s plenty of interior space, more than 650 litres of luggage capacity in fact (over 1,700 litres with folded seats). Following Skoda’s ‘Simply Clever’ philosophy, the Vision O’s interior also gives that little bit extra, with new features such as a portable Bluetooth speaker and a fully integrated fridge. The concept car also includes four umbrellas for passengers, a screen cleaner, and dedicated storage for charging cables in the boot. Practical magnetic wireless charging pods in the centre console also ensure convenient and efficient phone charging for all passengers.
