ChargePoint has introduced a new-generation version of its software platform.

The EV charging company says the new version of its ChargePoint Platform is designed to allow users, including fleet operators, to optimise any type of charging infrastructure, from a single site to a global network.

Features include continuous analysis of usage patterns, energy consumption, charging station health and vehicle condition, and a new Smart Waitlist function, designed to ensures that every available charger is used most efficiently by placing drivers in virtual queues and notifying them when a charger is available.

There’s also intelligent monitoring, allowing operators to track individual charger performance, troubleshoot issues, and make data-driven decisions, and intelligent balancing and optimisation of energy distribution and use to reduce infrastructure costs.

ChargePoint CEO Rick Wilmer said: “The new ChargePoint Platform is more than just modernised software, it is a catalyst for an electrified future.

“ChargePoint has manifested our deep expertise in EV charging to deliver the industry’s most advanced software platform, which is complemented by a robust hardware integration to enable our customers to accelerate the transition to sustainable mobility, regardless of what charger models they are operating in the field.”
