What’s new:
Peugeot has fitted the 165PS 2.2-litre petrol to its stylish 407 Coupe, making it the most tax-efficient version available (even better than the 2.7 diesel).
Excellent
It may be the least expensive and slowest (on paper), but it’s easily the most enjoyable to drive. The 2.2 engine is smooth and willing.
Good
BIK comes in at 30% or £242 a month for a 40% tax-payer for the £24,225 2.2 SE.
Average
It may be better looking than a BMW 3-series, but the Peugeot lags the premium brand on
Poor
Dashboard styling is standard (scattered) Peugeot and doesn’t look as special as the exterior.
Verdict
Easily our favourite 407 Coupe, and possibly our favourite Peugeot on sales today.
