The start point for the best source of fleet information

Awards 2010 - Supermini: Mini

Date: 26 January 2010

Mini

BMW's Mini has made this award its own in recent years. This is its eighth year in a row taking the win - the same number of years the car has been on sale.

Mini continually tops the residual value charts, which means running costs are making it the fleet manager's favourite. However, the Mini brand isn't resting on its laurels. This year the firm showed two new concepts based on the supermini platform.

The first was a coupé revealed at the Frankfurt motor show and the second was a Beachcomber concept shown ahead of the 2010 Detroit motor show.

In production terms the BMW-owned brand added a new entry-level car mid-year called the First. This new start-point to the range, taking over from the One, gave the Mini line-up a sub-£11,000 start price.

Rivals have been strengthening their offerings in the past year, with a new Volkswagen Polo, Ford Fiesta and Alfa Romeo Mito. And Mini will face a new challenge next year in the shape of the Audi A1.
