Techies 2010 - Best Risk Management System: E-Training World - E-Training World

Date: 24 August 2010

E-Training World's retention of the Best Risk Management System award illustrates the company's excellence in this sector.

The firm claims it has created "the most integrated, simple to use 'company' and 'grey fleet' system available".

It essentially starts as an empty shell, with managers inputting all of the drivers under their command that use their car for work in any way. That triggers an email to the individual driver, who then enters the automated process for training and assessment, with completion dates, reminder emails and manager updates all automatically produced.

A manager can log in and review the progress and records of each of their drivers, and their line manager can see everyone below them, broken down by department.

The system offers online driver risk assessment data, accident stats and E-driver training, as well as reports on a number of other factors. The colour-coded system flags up individual areas of attention, so managers don't have to wade through reams of data to find the problem drivers.

Such was the competition in this category, the judges felt it appropriate to award two Highly Commendeds.

CFC Solutions' Licence Link system is a web-based programme receiving 4000 driving licence checks every month. Integrated with CFC's software or used as a stand-alone system, it checks details with the DVLA according to a schedule set by fleet managers, and can be altered for different risk levels, such as grouping drivers by the number of outstanding points on their licence.

The second Highly Commended goes to GreenRoad 360, the real-time system that feeds back to drivers instantly via a traffic light-style gauge on the dash. One client claimed to see a 53% cut in high-risk manoeuvres in the first eight weeks of operation, while typical accident reduction figures are claimed to be 50%, with fuel consumption dropping by 10%.
