The start point for the best source of fleet information

Awards 2011 - Insurance: Aviva

Date: 25 January 2011

It's a second win in three years for Aviva in the BusinessCar Insurance Award category, although last time it was in the company's previous incarnation as Norwich Union.

Now firmly established in the UK under the new name, Aviva puts its popularity in winning this award down to its "long-term commitment to the fleet market with a product range that meets the needs of all shapes and sizes".

The firm's two key products are the Mini Fleet package aimed at fleets with three to 12 vehicles, and what Aviva's development manager Mark Keavney calls the "big Daddy product", Fleetwise, which will cover anything from 10 vehicles to an infinite number.

Late last year Aviva made a move to tap into the salary sacrifice market with a specific insurance programme for firms that have set up schemes, and it also continues to work with customers on the risk management side to try and minimise accidents and therefore insurance premiums.

Keavney said the big thing for fleets to remember is to notify their insurance company of an accident as soon as possible to avoid the third-party costs of a claim spiralling: "If we are notified within 24 hours we are able to manage the claim more effectively and keep third party claim costs down."
