Awards 2011 - Vehicle Recovery: The AA

This is the second award for the AA this year, following its Accident Management success. For the vehicle recovery category, the win gives the AA first place in four of the past five years.
In the past year, the organisation has added to its roadside services to keep business drivers moving. Director of AA Business Services David Wallace said: "These developments have built upon the success of AA Fuel Assist, which enables us to safely and effectively remove contaminated fuel from a vehicle in situ. Taking the idea of a mobile technician, they include AA AutoWindshields (fully mobile vehicle glass replacement and repair provider), AA Key Assist (roadside replacement key service), AA Battery Assist (roadside battery replacement service) and AA Service & Repair (mobile servicing and repair service).
He added: "These are now used by several of our fleet customers and have been extremely well-received. The AA also uses specially developed tooling and equipment, meaning we can effect more repairs at the roadside. For example, we have unique equipment that enables us to revive batteries which have sulphated over a long period."
