The start point for the best source of fleet information

Awards 2012 - Insurance: Aviva

Date: 24 January 2012

This is Aviva's second consecutive year at the top and its third in four years, the first of which was under the guise of Norwich Union.

The firm's breadth of coverage keeps it in favour with BusinessCar readers, with its Mini Fleet package, tailored to smaller fleets (between five and 12 vehicles), and its Fleetwise policy for larger organisations with at least 10 vehicles.

The company puts its success down to its "well-established and strong pedigree in the fleet insurance market". In the past year, Aviva has launched a bespoke insurance solution aimed at salary sacrifice customers (something

many within the industry are predicting will increase over the coming year) and developed a telematics insurance package, designed to cater for fleets with such devices installed on their vehicles.

Aviva's development manager, Mark Keavney, told BusinessCar that the firm's biggest challenge was the cost of fleet claims that continued to outpace inflation: "During 2011 we introduced a number of initiatives to speed up the claims process and to help combat escalating claims cost, without compromising on quality of vehicle repairs. Claims service is really important to fleet customers, and throughout 2011 we have rolled out some really exciting changes to enhance our proposition and to help get customers' vehicles back on the road following an accident."

He concluded by saying that the company intended to build on its products and services in 2012.
