Growth, traffic lights and changing fleet managment

For the second year in a row, Ogilvie Fleet's MiFleet Showroom system picked up the BusinessCar Techie award for Best Leasing and Contract Hire system.
Ogilvie is one of the few independent leasing companies in the top half of the BC50 and it targets fleets between 500 and 1000 vehicles, leaving the top 10 players in the leasing industry to take care of larger fleets.
MiFleet was created to help those medium-sized fleets cut the admin burden and, as Ogilvie sales and marketing director Nick Hardy explains, the company is working on constantly improving the system.
It added two new functions to MiFleet this year with a tweak to the service and MoT reminder function, allowing fleet managers to determine the regularity of prompts as well as record them as part of duty of care compliance.
The system offers grey fleet management in addition to the vital information on a firm's car fleet direct to a desktop or mobile device. It is offered free of charge to all the leasing company's customers and uses a traffic light system to warn managers of issues, rather than requiring them to run time-consuming reports.
This traffic light system means fleet managers can log in to check and, if all the lights are green, they can log straight out as there's nothing flagged up to worry about.
Hardy says: "We know it can be a bit of a boring industry and we wanted to make it look good when people interacted with it. No one wants to look at a load of dull spreadsheets when they're sorting through their admin, so we wanted to make it as colourful and as simple to use as possible."
