New to the BusinessCar Awards winners’ enclosure is Epyx, which, with its 1Link system, has taken the software category for the first time. The win ends a three-year run by CFC Solutions.
Commenting on the prize, Ken Trinder (above), head of business development at Epyx, said: “The momentum behind fleet use of e-commerce has been growing for some time, but 2009 was the year, we believe, that major fleets really began to apply our technology right across their operations.
“Part of this was due to the recession and the cost reduction agenda seen across the industry, but another key factor was fleets simply becoming more comfortable with e-commerce and recognising the results it could bring about in areas such as vehicle acquisition, servicing and maintenance management, short-term hire, re-licensing and disposal.”
Trinder continued: “Our technology has brought about measureable results for many fleets during 2009 and that is why we believe the readers of BusinessCar have identified Epyx as best software company. We’d like to thank everyone who voted for us.”
Increases in business were seen right across Epyx’s range of e-commerce systems in 2009. Examples include 1link Service Network, used for SMR management, which experienced a 20% increase in transactions. And 1link Disposal Network, designed to handle fleet disposals, which was adopted by several large leasing companies.
