This is a second victory for the AA in this year’s awards, adding the Vehicle Recovery category to the Accident Management award it also collected, courtesy of the readers of BusinessCar.

The firm’s breakdown operations for fleet operators goes from basic roadside assistance through to full European cover, with home start, relay recovery to a destination of choice and relay plus, which includes hire car, accommodation or public transport costs.

The AA has also developed a range of Assist Services designed to deal with non-mechanical problems too, including misfuelling errors that can prove incredibly costly if drivers have mistakenly filled a diesel with unleaded or vice versa. There is also cover for rescuing drivers stranded thanks to lost, damaged or stolen keys, and AA AutoWindshields has 275 technicians nationwide to replace vehicle glass. The final element of the Assist line-up is Battery Assist, recharging and, if necessary, replacing vehicle batteries.

The AA’s corporate breakdown cover can also stretch to specialist vehicles such as minibuses, taxis, ambulances, couriers or motorcycles, and the company will combine its breakdown cover with its Fleet Advantage fuel card, which can also be used for windscreen work, tyres, vehicle rental, servicing and repairs.
