Goddard tells us Artura started by creating a group of independent bodyshops – 30 in total. He says: “It was about adding real value to the repairers. Quickly, we realised that poor estimating standards were costing businesses dearly. So, we hit the road – visiting each shop, working hands-on with estimators to train and audit them.”
Old habits die hard, as estimators would often slip back to old methods, and the Artura team knew they had to do more. “That’s when we launched Artura as an outsourced estimating solution, available to all repairers.”
This unlocked new opportunities. Placing work for major insurers soon followed, and with it came The Artura Network – a robust pipeline of 200-300 claims a month and counting. Goddard adds: “We realised fleets were facing massive delays with repairs – the bigger the fleet, the bigger the headache! If a fleet grows from three to 30 vehicles, often the person managing it has no fleet training – let alone expertise in claims or cost control.”
Artura set out to change that. It streamlined processes, smashed through repair bottlenecks, and helped fleets get vehicles back on the road faster – crucial when downtime can cost £400+ per day.
Fast-tracking repairs
A game-changer for Artura is it BSI-audited outsourced estimating department – the first of its kind in the UK. Jackson says: “Most fleets are stuck waiting up to five days just to get an estimate. We can turn it around within 24 hours. Sometimes we can even authorise repairs on the same day!”
The efficiencies don’t stop there, as Artura’s custom-built claims app puts the power into drivers’ hands. Jackson says: “At the accident scene, drivers can use the app to capture a First Notification of Loss (FNOL) in just three minutes. Photos, data – everything is submitted instantly. We pick it up, estimate it, place it into a repair shop, and get the ball rolling.
“It is a seamless process designed to cut downtime and save fleets thousands.”
Creating an ecosystem for fleets
Artura isn’t just about fixing vehicles – it is building a full-service fleet ecosystem. Atkins says: “We now offer insurance brokerage services, providing competitive terms and bundling in our claim’s expertise for free. It doesn’t stop there, as through partnerships with Vanaways, we offer vehicle leasing for cars and vans. We also help fleets access finance solutions for purchasing new equipment or premises.”
“Fleetmaxx has been brought onboard to cut fleet fuel costs. EV charger installations are now available through new green energy partners. They even manage energy efficiency projects for businesses looking to reduce their carbon footprint.
“It is still growing, as we’ve partnered with Ctrack, a dashcam company! Soon, our accident reporting app will integrate directly with their dashcams – making claims even faster.”
Perhaps the most disruptive part of Artura’s model is it doesn’t charge fleets for its services. Goddard says: “We pay fleets £150 per fault claim we manage! We’re incentivising smart repair management, because we know our system saves money across the board.”
Jackson says: “We triage every incident too. Some repairs don’t need a bodyshop visit – a smart repair can sort it. That’s why we’ve partnered with a nationwide smart repair network.”
Also, Artura’s parts division, led by seasoned expert Darren Griffin, tackles one of the industry’s biggest frustrations – finding parts. Jackson adds: “We’re achieving a 73% success rate sourcing hard-to-find parts, where others fail.”
Trusted by fleets nationwide
Today, Artura works directly with ten fleets, while supporting services for another 40 fleets through partnerships. Clients range from single-vehicle fleets to those with 2,000+ vehicles, with demand rising fast. Atkins says: “We’re already engaged with 34 of them, many operating across multiple sites. Word-of-mouth referrals are booming too.”
The biggest transformation has come in the last year, as the post-Covid backlog in the repair sector forced fleets to look for smarter solutions. Atkins adds: “We’re no longer just an outsourced claims handler, we’re essentially offering fleets a complete operational MOT – streamlining costs, efficiency, sustainability, and uptime.”
Fleet is the future
Unlike many claims companies, Artura’s leadership team is built from specialists with hands-on industry knowledge. Whether it’s technical estimating, fleet management, insurance, finance, or repairs – Artura speaks the language of fleet operators. Jackson says: “We’ve built the technology, the partnerships, and the team. Now, it’s about scaling up – because when fleets work with Artura, they see the difference immediately.”
