YOUNG AT HEART: ACFO's survival tips

Date: 18 May 2009

Once again ACFO's annual conference was a hit. The reason? In essence it was a 'how to survive the recession' guide.

The venue was packed with more than 100 ACFO members and I'm sure every one of them could now save their membership fee per car, per year if they acted on the information supplied on the day.

At the most simple level there were quick wins suggested by fleet consultant David Rawlings involving cutting business mileage. And at the other end of the spectrum, solicitor Gerard Forlin set out how a company could avoid a damaging and potentially crippling corporate manslaughter case arising from a company vehicle incident.

This year's conference had the added aspect of an open forum to discuss topics raised by the ACFO membership including licence checking, salary sacrifice schemes and CO2 capping. And it's these views from ACFO members that will influence what BusinessCar covers in future so that we too can help fleet managers.
