The risers and fallers in the leasing industry

You'll see from the latest print issue's cover story and the feature starting on page 11 that BusinessCar has again been looking at the industry's top leasing companies and how they've fared in volume terms over the past 12 months.
While the top 10 are static in relation to who makes it in there, how they're faring is a different issue. It's particularly tight among the batch of firms just below the biggest lease companies, with less than 1750 units separating Daimler Fleet Management in sixth from 10th-placed Alphabet. Most of those firms have expressed positive noises about the future, so it will be interesting to see how they develop in the next 12 months.
ALD Automotive used to be part of that group, too, but big rises this year have seen it draw clear into a top five that is predictably dominated by the goliath that is the combined forces that make up Lex Autolease. Despite trimming its fleet, as declared a year ago, the company that takes top spot one still has a fleet size that out-numbers second (LeasePlan), third (Lombard Vehicle Management) and fourth (Arval) put together.
