Given January's status as the gloomiest month of the year, it's nice to be able to lengthen Christmas by handing out presents to in the form of the 2011 BusinessCar Awards.
Decided by votes from the readers of BusinessCar magazine, website and email newsletters, the awards are designed to reward those companies and products that have best served this industry over the past 12 months.
While some of the awards almost choose themselves, in that we weren't at all surprised to see the results in one or two of the categories, others were so tight that with a couple of days of voting to go, the prize could still have gone either way. It made for interesting watching as the votes piled in. It's also a good feeling to be able to commend the companies that you have decided are helping your business the most. Congratulations to all involved, and apologies to those who won't be collecting BusinessCar Awards. Maybe next year.
There was also one other winner we'd like to congratulate - Val South, GB fleet manager for Xerox. She was the lucky voter out of all those who expressed their opinions online, chosen at random to receive six bottles of champagne to toast the winners with.
