The start point for the best source of fleet information

Paul Barker's blog: 4 June 2014 - Looking like a pretty smart move

Date: 04 June 2014

Arval was recently kind enough to give BusinessCar a guided tour around its new online, mobile and tablet-based offering, all coming under the Arval Smart Experience umbrella.

The company is fairly certain, and I'm inclined to agree, that it's the most comprehensive offering from a leasing company, consisting of a broad range of digital offerings including apps, videos and a tablet-optimised fleet overview.

The way the industry is accessing information is changing, and mobile technology in the form of apps and portable device-friendly websites is becoming more important.

Which is why we're even more excited than normal about the 2014 BusinessCar Techies, which launched yesterday.

The Fleet Technology Awards, the only ones in the industry specifically rewarding intelligent use of technology, are now in their sixth year and have grown in stature every year since their debut in 2009.

The Best App and Innovation categories could be particularly interesting this time around because these are the areas leasing companies are pouring development money into.

As the way fleets are managed shifts, the companies working hardest to keep up with customer needs should be the ones to flourish.

But there is the danger that with technology, ideas, applications and developments can quickly shift direction, and what appears to be the next big thing can soon be swamped or superseded; however, this is certainly an exciting time for the industry because we're never quite sure what development is round the next corner.
