ACFO’s chairman has been something of a constant for the fleet industry over the past seven years. Julie Jenner has been universally recognised as a sterling head of the organisation and someone who isn’t afraid to stand up and make a bit of noise on its behalf since she took up the post back in 2006.
Times have changed and former deputy chairman – and BusinessCar Techies awards judge – Damian James, has subsequently taken
up the role. Having interviewed him a few times, I?can attest to the fact that he knows his stuff, so he’s probably as safe a pair of hands as ACFO?can possibly get after Jenner’s step down, although she remains on the board. Good luck to them both in their new positions.
In this week’s issue of BusinessCar we delve into the often unchartered waters of modifying business vehicles. Fleets have usually avoided this in the past – and with good reason because there are some massive pitfalls.
One top leasing company has now bought into it in a big way, though, with what, at first glance, seems to be a degree of success. Insurance companies, at least, seem more receptive to chipping or remapping, for economy purposes than you might imagine.
Recent moves by chipping specialist Viezu show even more uptake in the practice, so could we soon see a glut of company vehicles delivering better fuel economy and lower emissions after a remap??Read the article in our latest issue and you’ll find that might already be the case.
