The start point for the best source of fleet information

BusinessCar Awards 2015 - Mainstream Upper Medium: Vauxhall Insignia

Date: 27 January 2015

Mainstream models have shone this year, and Vauxhall's Insignia has taken top prize in the hotly contested upper medium segment.

The Insignia is a massive fleet seller for Vauxhall, with 80% of sales going to the corporate market, while 2014's facelift reduced CO2 from 112g/km to 98g/km, putting it at the top of the class. Also, class-leading running costs combine with the fleet-friendly Tech Line trim, which offers the latest technology so drivers don't have to fork out for options.

A 530-litre boot beats the Ford Mondeo's by 72 litres. Residual values are nearly on par with the Mondeo as a result of Vauxhall rejigging its range, and at 47.5p per mile, compared with the Mondeo's 49.0ppm, its running costs help to make it the segment leader.

Highly commended: Skoda Superb

The Skoda Superb was Highly Commended this year, which is no surprise as it should always be a recommendation for those after an enormous boot and legroom, high-quality VW Group build and excellent value. Skoda's SE Business trim was introduced this year, and is tailored specifically to company car drivers.
