BusinessCar Awards 2016: Mini-MPV - Vauxhall Zafira Tourer

Date: 26 January 2016

The Zafira Tourer may have won our mini-MPV category but its whole appeal lies in its practical seven-seat interior, which is anything but mini.

The family-friendly Vauxhall is quite a striking-looking car, but sensible with it. It returns up to 68.9mpg and its emissions are as low as 109g/km in 136hp 1.6-litre diesel form, for a low 19% benefit-in-kind rate.

Despite its green credentials, the most economical 1.6-litre diesel also offers more than enough punch, being able to sprint from a standstill to 62mph in a reasonable 10.4 seconds.

The next most frugal option is the 170hp 2.0-litre diesel. It returns 57.7mpg and has emissions of 129g/km (and 23% BIK bills) while offering speedier acceleration.

As it does on other models in the Vauxhall family, Tech Line trim offers very strong value for money while including all the fleet necessities such as satnav, Vauxhall's innovative OnStar system, climate control, automatic windscreen wipers, Bluetooth, a digital radio and cruise control. Those users after an automatic gearbox, however, may be better served elsewhere, as the lowest emitting auto falls into the 28% BIK band.
