BusinessCar Awards 2016: Premium Small 4x4 - Land Rover Discovery Sport

Date: 26 January 2016

Third place in the overall Business Car of the Year award and now BusinessCar's Premium Small 4x4 of the Year - that's an impressive debut in our awards for the seven-seat Discovery Sport, a model that succeeds its Range Rover Evoque sibling in this particular category.

The Discovery Sport was launched at the very beginning of 2015, initially with older-technology engines that weren't ideal for fleets due to their high emissions.

However, that changed last autumn when Jaguar Land Rover's new Wolverhampton engine plant started producing the 2.0-litre diesel that's transformed the emissions figures of the Discovery Sport and the Evoque, as well as providing the power for the Jaguar XE, our Business Car of the Year, and the new XF executive saloon.

Land Rover also expanded the Discovery Sport range towards the end of 2015 with the HSE Dynamic Lux model. This features a number of aesthetic enhancements including 20-inch gloss black wheels and black exterior detailing. The company also introduced a new All-Terrain Progress Control system, allowing drivers to set and maintain a steady speed between 1-19mph off-road.
