BusinessCar Awards 2016: Risk Management - AA Drivetech

Date: 26 January 2016

AA Drivetech, the AA's risk management and driver training arm, has scooped this award for the third time in a row.

The company states its key goals as auditing, validating, assessing, training, and managing the risk management and driver training of a company.

It offers comprehensive risk management programmes to car, van, bus, coach, truck and 4x4 off-road drivers, and last year joined the Energy Saving Trust's eco training scheme. This was set up by the Department for Transport to increase driver safety and drive down fuel costs, with drivers who take the course averaging a 15% reduction.

Our BusinessCar Award winner claims that around 65% of company vehicles will be involved in an accident in the next 12 months, with average repair costs of £750-£4500 per claim. It also claims that a comprehensive risk management programme can reduce insurance premiums by at least 15% (depending on previous claims records), improve fuel consumption by 7%, reduce by 5% a business's spend on durables such as brakes and tyres, and improve, through driver training, a vehicle's residual value by around 4%.
