BusinessCar Awards 2016: Vehicle Recovery - The AA

Date: 26 January 2016

With the AA now claiming ownership of the vehicle recovery category, this is the company's fourth 2016 BusinessCar Award.

It's been a good start to the year for the AA, which, right at the beginning of January, announced a huge deal with Lex Autolease, the UK's largest leasing company, to provide roadside assistance to its 307,000 vehicles. The AA's 3000 patrols will also provide recovery and incident management, while the organisation will be responsible for supplying European cover too.

The AA signed a deal to take on 500 Volkswagen Transporters last summer, including 70 4Motion all-wheel drive models designed to help reach motorists stuck in hard-to-reach locations.

The AA also offers a free app providing a range of services including free, live, traffic updates, mapped fuel prices, route planning, traffic data and parking information. It allows members to summon breakdown assistance as well, logging the location to make it easier for patrols to find a stricken vehicle
