The judges thought that the Born was a well-rounded product, in terms of desirability and execution. The Cupra drives well, has a decent electric range, quick charging capacity and is well-equipped.
The judges commented on the impressive electric range. The i4 still feels like a BMW to drive and has a practical hatchback design. It is the perfect premium EV option for user-choosers or businesses to go green without attracting attention.

Nothing launched over the last 12 months could really match the Toyota's efficiency from its hybrid drivetrain, plus its full suite of safety systems. The Yaris also looks good, drives well, and boasts impressive RVs - so it holds on to the crown for a second year.

The new Vauxhall's overall design was a bit of head turner. The inside of the Astra is equally attractive with its minimalist look. Prices are competitive, there are PHEV versions to keep running costs down, and standard specifications represent great value for money.

In the words of one of our judges, 'there's nothing I'd take over the 5 Series'. Despite serious competition from new rivals, the BMW remains the accomplished all-rounder its always been and is our Best Executive Car again for 2022.
Highly commended: Mercedes-Benz E-Class
The judges were blown away by how good the Jogger is - considering the price. It has rugged good looks, is great to drive and is well-equipped. The Dacia's interior is spacious and practical and it is substantially cheaper than any similar seven-seat rival.
Highly commended: MG ZS EV
More recent rivals have run it close, but the 3 Series remains king of the Premium Cars in our opinion. Its attractive mixture of driver appeal, a comprehensive choice of engines, and low total cost of ownership figures continues to impress our judges.

The Puma holds onto its crown for the third year in a row - impressive considering the number of new launches and refreshes in this busy sector. This Ford is still great to drive, fitted with frugal mild-hybrid petrol engines and is impressively practical.
Highly commended: Toyota Yaris Cross
The new Sportage is a medium SUV at the top of its game. Impressing our judges with its choice of hybrid powertrains and strong practicality. All models are well-equipped, and the distinctive, modern styling looks sharp.
Highly commended: Hyundai Tucson, Toyota RAV4
Our judges were impressed by the all-new NX's extra practicality, its performance, plus the NX450h's EV range and low 8% BIK figure. On top of the increased space, it's a tidy and refined choice that's worthy of picking over German rivals in this class.
BMW has been refining the X5 for the past 21 years, and the current fourth-generation version is a brilliant fleet choice. The X5 has a quality, well-made and well-designed interior, with optional seven-seat practicality. Plus, impressive 8% BIK on the 45e PHEV.
The new Range Rover's styling inside and out was more evolution than revolution, but it drives and handles like a much smaller SUV, thanks to the clever four-wheel steering. Not an affordable choice, but the incoming low BiK PHEV versions will be the pick for fleets.

Hyundai's development of its fully electric, plug-in hybrid and full hybrid models has given fleet buyers the choice they need and all with minimal waiting times. Hyundai has also educated buyers, by providing clear information on the financial and eco-friendly benefits.
Kia UK now offers one of the most comprehensive and modern model line-ups in the country. Fleets are offered a choice of fully electric, plug-in hybrid and full hybrid options. As a result, Kia's fleet sales have soared in recent years.
The RZ is the first all-electric Lexus developed from the ground up, and when it goes on sale next year, it is sure to shake up established premium brand rivals with 309hp, a range of more than 250 miles and fully fly-by-wire steering.
JCT600 Vehicle Leasing Solutions impressed our judges because it doesn't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, it works with its customers to understand their objectives. The company has also improved its IT processes and its salary sacrifice product.

Judges were dazzled by LeasePlan's 93% customer retention rate over the last 12 months, plus winning 149 clients over the same period. The company also impressed with how it has overhauled its service proposition, to provide dedicated support in specific areas.

Chevin's FleetWave fleet management system is one that people trust, as it is used in over 180 countries to manage more than a million vehicles and associated assets. However, over the last year Chevin has accelerated product development and customer engagement faster than ever before.
Engineius continued to impress our judges with how simple it is for clients to book, track and manage vehicle movements online at the company's one-stop shop. Pricing takes just 30 seconds, and once the order is placed, clients remain in control.

The AA impressed our judges with the sheer volume of breakdown cover they provide for B2B holding - an incredible 10m! This includes three fifths of the UK's top 20 fleets. They've also retained or extended their key contracts due for renewal in the past three years.
Mercedes are the worthy winner this year, moving up three places taking top spot. The sites slick look was praised by our editorial team, making key information easier to find - its Achilles' heel in the past.
Providing excellent customer service is the core business objective of Ogilvie Fleet. With a client retention rate of over 98.7% and a contract win rate of 57%, this approach is paying off with customers, as its current growth in fleet size is fed by referrals from existing clients.
SG Fleet was identified by our judges, as it has created, implemented, and launched a full product - eStart. eStart is an initiative aimed at assisting customers in reducing their carbon footprint by transitioning from traditional ICE/PHEV to full zero emission vehicles.

We are at a landmark point in automotive history as we move to an alternative fuels future. Driver training should not be forgotten as part of this transition, in fact Drivetech believes that driver training and fleet safety will be a number one priority as fleets take the plunge.

VisionTrack impressed our judges with continually enhancing how fleets detect, monitor, and analyse collisions, near misses and driver behaviour to gain a better understanding of fleet risk. At the beginning of the year, VisionTrack had 75,000 connected video-enabled devices - a 35% increase during 2021.
Aston Barclay has created a suite of digital platforms and integrated with its network of six state-of-the-art physical hubs to facilitate the sale of vehicles. By doing this, Aston Barclay enjoys an industry-leading first-time conversion rate of 85%.
Europcar Mobility Group was identified by the judges because it has gone the extra mile to keep its customers mobile despite a global vehicle supply crisis. It has done this by investing in technology, growing its fleet and branch network and by putting long-term customers first.

Webfleet Solutions impressed our judges with its commitment to advancing the connective capabilities of the fleet automotive sector, with data-driven innovations that accelerate the move to more sustainable and efficient business operations.

Shaun sadly passed away earlier this year, aged 64. Well liked in the industry, his vision, drive, innovative spirit, and passion turned the Grosvenor Group into one of the most admired contract hire and fleet management companies in the sector.

Northgate launched the Drive to Zero to provide customers with a full suite of solutions designed to aid fleets' transition to electric vehicles, and it has proved a huge success.
Dale impressed our judges with his continued focus on reducing the size and the carbon emissions of the Defra Group fleet, that in the last three to four years, this focus has accelerated exponentially.
BMW builds on its strong fleet record through its choice of models - most recently with its expanded EV range. Then there's the support for company car drivers, with the roll out of 'Inside Edge', an exclusive rewards platform for BMW company car drivers.
The new Sportage's distinctive styling shows Kia's new design confidence, and fleet drivers who can't make the jump to EV will be happy with the choice of electrified powertrains and the PHEV's 8% BIK figure. All models are also well-equipped and the interior is attractive.
