Manufacturer Awards
Best Small Car: Renault 5 E-Tech

The Renault 5 E-Tech looks great inside and out but is not too retro in terms of style. There is a choice of 40kWh and 52kWh electric drivetrains, and it offers a comfortable, composed, and fun drive. With prices starting at £22,995, in our opinion, this Renault makes rivals look expensive and is the best small car package for fleet drivers.
Highly commended: Mini Cooper/Cooper Electric
Best Family Car: Cupra Born

A previous Business Car Awards winner, the Cupra Born is our Family Car choice. Both inside and out, it’s a particularly desirable EV family package for fleet. There are plenty of versions to choose from, but any Born offers a keen drive, with decent electric range and charging capability. All models boast a practical, well-equipped, and spacious interior.
Highly commended: MG4
Best Value Car: BYD Dolphin Surf

2025, as we anticipated, has already proved to be the year of the affordable small EV. If the BYD Dolphin Surf doesn’t attract the attention of fleets for its range, looks, interior space, and high levels of standard equipment, then the affordable list pricing surely will. Prices start at just £18,650 for the entry-level Active, rising to £23,950 for the Comfort range-topper.
Highly commended: Dacia Bigster, MG HS
Best Premium Car: BMW i4

The BMW i4’s reign at the Business Car Awards seems unassailable, with this its third award in the last three years! Following a recent facelift, newer electric and ICE-powered rivals still can’t topple this EV, which offers an enviable package of competitive and trustworthy electric range, the expected BMW driver appeal, and a practical hatchback design.
Highly commended: Polestar 2
Best Executive Car: Audi A6 E-Tron

The A6 E-Tron is Audi’s newest electrified model and is built on its latest PPE EV platform. Whether you choose the Sportback hatch, or Avant estate, they both look great – with practical boot space. The A6 E-Tron offers many hi-tech features and is a refined drive. All versions offer a long range, good efficiency, and fast charging speeds.
Highly commended: BMW 5 Series/i5
Best Compact SUV: Kia EV3

Kia’s first dedicated compact EV, the EV3, in our opinion, is the definitive choice for fleet compared with rivals. This is thanks to its impressive efficiency, resulting in a segment-leading range of up to 372 miles. It also boasts distinctive looks, and a comfortable and composed ride. There’s also a spacious, stylish, well-equipped, and quality interior, with easy-to-use infotainment.
Highly commended: Hyundai Kona/Kona Electric
Best Medium SUV: Skoda Elroq

The Elroq follows on from the excellent Enyaq EV, a previous multi-award winner at the Business Car Awards. The Elroq’s exterior design might be conventional, but it’s an attractive mixture of current family styling cues together with Skoda’s new face. This Skoda’s interior is attractive and spacious, the range and charging are competitive, and the pricing attractive.
Highly commended: Renault Scenic
Best Premium Medium SUV: Audi Q4 E-Tron

The Audi Q4 E-Tron has been around for a while, but it’s the facelifted models that have really piqued our interest. The Q4’s new electric motor offers increased power and efficiency – equalling trustworthy range. This Q4 is a tidier drive, with more precise steering. Inside, this Audi has the premium, high-quality finish expected from the four rings brand.
Highly commended: BMW X1/iX1, Cupra Tavascan
Best Premium Large SUV: Kia EV9

For the second year in a row, and despite other new Premium Large SUV launches this year, the Kia EV9 retains its Business Car Awards crown. The EV9 still looks great against the opposition, remains a practical seven-seater, is good to drive, and is impressively efficient. Prices may start at over £65,000, but this is good value compared with rivals.
Highly commended: BMW iX
Most Improved Manufacturer of the Year: BYD UK

Considering BYD only launched in the UK back in 2023, its growth has been stratospheric! The network is now up to 75 locations, with the ambition to have 100 locations by the end of the year – all with a strong focus on partners with experience in fleet supply. Its corporate fleet has grown from 10 to 150 cars, plus it has implemented several initiatives to improve SMR, and reduce fleet costs.
Highly commended: Skoda
Driver’s Choice: BMW M5

Seven generations in, and a performance icon, the BMW M5 is an innovator too. The latest G60 M5 moves the model on significantly and is now a plug-in hybrid. Don’t think it has gone soft, however, as the saloon and Touring estate models are still a very complete way to go very fast. Despite having more than 700hp, the M5 is also easy and involving to drive.
Highly commended: Alpine A290, Audi E-Tron GT
Fleet Manufacturer of the Year: BMW Group

With its product portfolio, BMW continues to make significant strides with electrification. It now offers an extensive and class leading range of all-electric and plug-in hybrid models to cater to diverse customer needs. Elsewhere, BMW continues its commitment to growing its fleet business every year, by adapting to changing market conditions, and ensuring the needs of fleet customers are met.
Highly commended: MG, Renault Group, Skoda
One to Watch: BMW iX3

On top of showcasing the next generation of BMW models, the iX3 will also attract the attention of fleet buyers. Slimmer batteries, more efficient motors, and clever technology will, according to BMW, equal an impressive range of 497 miles. If that figure is correct, this would be the UK’s longest-range EV.
