We are Enyaq fans at Business Car, as it has previously been our Business Car of the Year. Following updates at the start of 2024, with changes to the model’s efficiency, infotainment, and drive, it has justified its position as one of the best EV all-rounders on the market. As such, it won the Best Medium SUV accolade at our 2024 awards.
Since then, the Enyaq’s received an Elroq-style facelift, with the same sleek black ‘Tech-Deck’ face as the smaller model. And we’ve now had the chance to drive the fastest version.
Like the Elroq vRS, the Enyaq is fitted with the same 84kWh battery (79kWh net), and dual motors, equalling 335hp, 545Nm of torque, and 0-62mph acceleration in just 5.4 seconds – making this one of the fastest accelerating Skoda’s ever, and all at 3% BIK! Yet, this Enyaq is still capable of up to 347 miles between charges, and can be DC charged up to 185kW, equalling a 10-80% charge in around 26 minutes – so despite its performance, long journeys should be possible.
Design and interior
Outside, the vRS makeover equals a specific front bumper, with gloss black insert and finlets, a vRS specific rear bumper on SUV versions, body-colour side skirts, lowered sports chassis, standard 20in aero-optimised alloy wheels, and gloss black detailing. Overall, the Enyaq vRS looks different enough to stand out against the rest of the Enyaq range – especially if you go for Mamba Green paint.
Inside, the sporting feel remains unchanged to the last Enyaq vRS. This vRS adds green stitching to the luxurious feeling microsuede, and artificial leather, that’s fitted throughout and is called the ‘Suite’ set up.

The driving position is good, and improved by the fitment of supportive, one-piece sports seats, that are heated and massaging. It certainly feels different from a standard Enyaq. Skoda has also boosted the level of standard equipment, with three-zone Climatronic air-conditioning and a 635W Canton audio system. Coupe models, like the car we had, also come equipped with a full-length panoramic glass roof.
The 13in infotainment screen is as seen with the standard Enyaq, and other Volkswagen Group products – it works well and is easy to connect your phone to.
The Enyaq remains spacious in the back, with plenty of headroom – whichever body style is chosen. Choose the SUV, and you get the most spacious 585-litre boot – but go for the sleeker Coupe, and this drops to 570 litres, although that isn’t exactly small either.
Performance and drive
As before, the vRS feels fastest from start-off, although it doesn’t quite feel 335hp fast! Stamp on the throttle and the way you’re pushed further into its sports seat is more noticeable in the mechanically identical Elroq vRS. More noticeable in the vRS version of the Enyaq, are the differences made to the drive, largely as a result of the standard fit Dynamic Chassis Control (DCC), with adaptive dampers.
Considering the vRS has a stiffer set-up, and our test car was on the standard 20in wheels, we were surprised at how comfortable and compliant the sportiest Enyaq was. Although again, the DCC fitted is making a big difference here.

In addition, given the car’s 2.2 tonne weight, body roll is kept well under control and with four-wheel drive, grip levels are high. This means this Enyaq covers ground quicker than you’d think.
However, the ride can sometimes feel crashy, plus the steering isn’t quite as precise as you’d expect a vRS badged Skoda to, meaning it’s not as much fun as it could be!
Ultimately, if you want the fastest, most capable Enyaq, the vRS is the one to choose – just don’t expect it to be as sporty or entertaining as a vRS-badged Skoda would normally be.
Positive: Looks, spacious and practical interior, comfort, range, efficiency
Negative: Expensive, steering lacks feel, not as sporty or entertaining as you might expect
