ACFO suffers board election confusion

Following last week's sudden departure of ACFO chairman Tony Leigh for personal reasons, Fleet Week has now discovered the recent ACFO board-member election has been scrapped and has been rescheduled for August 3.
Independent scrutineers are understood to have been called in following a high number of ballot papers spoiled in the first vote.
An ACFO insider disclosed confusion and badly laid out ballot papers were the reason behind the large numbers of votes lost.
In response the fleet body has contact each of its members to arrange for an extraordinary general meeting on August 3.
When asked for the official reasons for the emergency meeting, ACFO's Stewart Whyte said, "It's due to internal administration issues including Tony standing down. They are boring technicalities and goings-on. We are doing this under expert guidance. Later this week or next there will be an external announcement.
"All members have had a letter explaining the situation and giving phone numbers [for further advice]."
