Audi Q7 misses out on fifth star

Date: 06 October 2006

Audi's full-size 4x4 missed out on gaining five stars for occupancy safety in the latest round of Euro NCAP crash test results.

Poor welding on the Q7 was blamed for a rupture in the footwell on impact during testing, which resulted in the car being awarded four stars. Audi has since improved the welding.

Also tested were the new Citroen C4 Picasso, Mercedes B-class and Ford Galaxy, which each received the maximum five stars, while the older Mazda 3 received four.
