Authorities could be greener

Date: 12 July 2006

Local authorities could do more to help drivers go green, according to RAC Foundation boss Edmund King.

King, who spoke at Fleet Week's Business Car Conference in May, called on local authorities to do more to promote green motoring and challenged them to stop viewing all motorists as intruders.

RAC Foundation claimed that according to its own figures one in five car journeys could be made by other means, but that councils could do more to help.
