Baby Volvo 4x4 set to crash the show

Date: 17 December 2006

Volvo XC60

Meet the XC90's new baby brother concept that's set to take the Detroit motor show by storm.

Dubbed the XC60, the new small 4x4 shares the same underpinnings as the recently launched Land Rover Freelander.

It carries over many of the successful design language of the 'sportshatch' C30 and is expected to be avilable with Volvo's new 3.2-litre straight six petrol engine.

The XC60 is expected be a premium 4x4, with prices beginning at more than £20,000 when the Volvo 4x4 eventually goes on sale in late 2008.
