Big spec, small price for all-new Corsa

Date: 19 July 2006

Vauxhall has unveiled full pricing and specification for the new Corsa as the car makes its world debut today at the British International Motor Show.

The bigger, better specified Corsa has pricing beginning at £7495 for the 1.0-litre three-door Expression model, rising to £13,795 for the five-door 1.3 CDTi Design. The five-door models are £600 more than their three-door equivalents, except the 1.2 80PS Life, which is £1000 more, and the 1.0 60PS Life, which is £1500 more. There is no five-door equivalent of the 1.0-litre Expression.

Entry-level Expression models come equipped with standard twin airbags, CD player, central locking and electric mirrors, while Life adds remote locking and electric front windows. Club trim includes curtain and side airbags, an MP3 player and steering controls. Range-topping Design models come with auto lights, wipers, aircon and chrome interior highlights. Sporty SXi complete the line-up with alloys, grippier seats, fog lights and chrome tailpipes.

On sale October, higher equipment levels as well as lower average prices compared to the current car mean the new car is expected to challenge the best-in-class for costs and continue to be a big success in fleet.
