Bravo! Fiat shows off stunning Golf rival

Date: 26 October 2006   |   Author: John Mahoney

Fiat has shocked the automotive world by releasing images of its stunning new lower medium champion.

Following lacklustre sales of the poorly received Stilo, the Italian manufacturer has chosen to reincarnate the former Bravo name.

There are no plans for a three-door 'Brava' hatch.

Fiat claims not only will its five-door hatch offer a spacious interior and the largest boot capacity in its class, but it will also employ technological features and levels of quality "worthy of a class above".

The Bravo will be powered by two diesel 1.9-litre engines, a 1.4 petrol and two turbocharged 1.4s called the 1.4T-jet.

Pricing is yet to be announced with the Bravo expected to go on sale early 2007.
