From next year, Mondeo-man will have yet another rival from new UK market entrant Dodge, in the form of the Avenger.
Shown here in concept form, the Avenger will be formally unveiled at the Paris motor show next week and is designed to offer an in-your-face alternative to the more usual upper-medium market contenders.
The Avenger follows the styling trend set by Dodge's first market entrant the Caliber.
While the looks are on the sporty side, the engine line-up is likely to be more down-to-earth and is set to include a 2.0-litre diesel.
