HSBC contract hire vehicles delivered from today will benefit from a new £500 damage waiver, a 25% increase over an existing threshold that has been in place since 1999.
From today customers will be billed for damage that is in the BVRLA's fair wear and tear guidelines only if it exceeds £500.
Currently one in 10 of HSBC's leased vehicles need end of contract recharges come disposal, a statistic the leasing giant claims is substantially less than the industry average.
