Jaguar launches long diesel XJ for chauffeurs

Date: 12 July 2006

'Two Jags' John Prescott can keep his car under the green fleet scheme

Jaguar is hoping to attract more chauffeur fleets to the XJ range by opening its order books for a diesel version of the XJ long-wheel-base.

The long version of the XJ is expected to carry the same £1750 premium over the regular model making the price of the XJ TDVi Sovereign LWB £51,795. Fuel and performance figures will be near identical to the standard car's 35.0mpg fuel figure and 0-62mph in 8.3 seconds.

LWB version of the XJ already account for about 12% of XJ sales, with this expected to rise with the introduction of a diesel. First deliveries are expect at the start of next year.
