Renault's first true 4x4, the South Korean-built Koleos, will play a pivotal user-chooser role, according to Renault UK's outgoing managing director Philippe Talou-Derible.
He said the five-seater crossover, which was shown in final concept form at the Paris show, marked the beginning of a shift in the centre of gravity towards larger cars for the Renault Range.
On the business car front, Talou-Derible said the Koleos, available from early 2008, would offer user-choosers who are not brand-obsessed an alternative to "flash brands bought by fashion victims".
