Land Rover hoping for CO2 tax breaks

Land Rover execs are in negotiations with HMRC over a possible company car tax discount for its CO2 off-set programme.
The green scheme invests in projects around the world that save the amount of carbon emitted in the build of a Land Rover and the amount of CO2 emitted in the first 45,000 miles of its life, effectively making the car 0g/km.
"The scheme will be introduced on the 2007 model-year cars which starts with the Range Rover going on sale in November. This gives us a few months to work with the HMRC," said a Land Rover spokesman.
HMRC said it did not incentivise individual projects, but did promote broader environmental schemes.
