The Met Police and Transport for London have combined to offer speed awareness workshops for drivers exceeding the limit by a few miles per hour. The £72 courses will take two-and-a-half hours and be in lieu of the traditional £60 fine and three penalty points. The first course takes place on 7 August, and the London Assembly claims the scheme will be the "biggest driver re-education course in Britain".
