The start point for the best source of fleet information

McCrossan leaves National Car Rental

Date: 19 July 2006

Neil McCrossan, National Car Rental's vp for commercial development, has left the company to start his own business.

McCrossan had been with National, the UK's largest car daily rental firm, for 26 years.

Speaking to Fleet Week, McCrossan said he was expecting to re-appear in the fleet market with a new venture by the end of the year, but would not be drawn on the nature of the new business.

His departure has resulted in the promotion of Lorraine Farnon to sales director and UK divisional vice president. Farnon, who's been at NCR for 16 years, will run the firm's fleet business and the Guy Salmon prestige rental operation, plus the CV rental division.

Farnon reports to Nick Harwood, recently promoted from world sales and marketing boss for sister brand Alamo to sales and marketing vp for NCR's parent firm Vanguard covering Europe, the Middle East and Africa.
