The start point for the best source of fleet information

Mega City charges in

Date: 26 July 2006

French manufacturer Aixam-Mega is planning an electric assault on our capital city.

The company has developed an electric city car that boasts a top speed of 40mph and a range of 40-50 miles.

Dubbed Mega City, it dodges congestion charging, road tax and even parking fees in some London boroughs. Distributor Nice hopes it will attract fleet business as a city-based pool car. Marketing has begun raising the Mega City's profile among estate agents, corporate lawyers and insurers as an emissions-free promotional vehicle.

It is hoped that 500 cars will be sold in the first year. Pricing begins at £9995.
