Mitsubishi launches fleet 4x4 week

Mitsubishi is to highlight its wide range of four-wheel drive commercial vehicles with a dedicated 4x4 CV week across its dealer network.
Each dealer will replace its main passenger car display with the company's CV range between 4-12 November - five L200 variants plus Shogun short- and long-wheelbase and the Shogun Sport commercial vehicles.
The manufacturer is also offering a host of contract hire or financing deals.
"Mitsubishi has the largest range of 4x4 commercial vehicles in the UK, and they're central to our sales growth," said sales and marketing director Lance Bradley. The range will expand next year with the launch of a CV version of the new Outlander off-roader.
Mitsubishi is stepping up its vehicle conversion activity as more UK firms increase their bespoke needs. It currently puts around 400 modified vehicles per year through its special vehicle operation at Ashton Down, near its Cirencester UK headquarters.
Customers include the Highways Agency, National Grid, Environment Agency and all but one of the UK's telecom firms, with modifications from towbars, lights and stripes to fitting out a vehicle as an ambulance.
"It gives us a real advantage, especially with Government departments that need to go out to tender," said Bradley. "If a vehicle needs a conversion they have to do it twice - once for the vehicle and again for the conversion. With us they don't have to do that."
The centre will eventually double in size from its current nine-service ramp layout. "It's a big plus to be able to offer it. Some customers are even talking about moving their non-Mitsubishi conversions to us," said national fleet manager Andy Wertheim.
Mitsubishi has also confirmed that it's developing a dropside pick-up based on the new L200 Tipper, due on sale next April, while the previous generation L200 will continue until the middle of next year.
