New boss for DC Fleet Management

Date: 31 August 2006

Steve Durrant is to take over as managing director of all-marque leasing company DaimlerChrysler Fleet Management, with former boss Geoff Robinson moving across the Atlantic to the new post of sales, marketing and remarketing director at DaimlerChrysler Truck Financial in the US.

Durrant is currently managing director of Mercedes-Benz CharterWay, the group's commercial vehicle leasing provider, a position he took in 2004. He'll continue in that role alongside his new job as boss of DCFM.

Outgoing boss Robinson's promotion within DaimlerChrysler comes after 10 years working for the group, the last six at the helm of the UK leasing company.

During this period he has overseen the change of the company's name from debis in 2001 to DaimlerChrysler Fleet Services Management. This was shortened to DaimlerChrysler Fleet Management earlier this year.

Robinson also oversaw the move from the Sunbury, Middlesex, base of debis to the current offices in Milton Keynes during 2002.

DCFM currently has a fleet of 43,000 vehicles, placing it behind BT Fleet and just outside the UK's top ten leasing companies.
