The start point for the best source of fleet information

New Ford Mondeo revealed

Date: 22 September 2006

The next version of the business car market's most iconic car, the Ford Mondeo, looks set to take the Paris motor show by storm.

Revealed here in near-production form, an estate version of the Mondeo will be formally launched in the French capital next week.

Replace the deep, sporty bumpers with a more practical set and you'll be bang-on the car that fleets everywhere will be choosing for their drivers.

The Mondeo goes on sale in the UK in early 2007 and is based on the same underpinnings as the S-max and Galaxy people carriers, with which the new car shares many styling links.

The sharing of underpinnings and a production line with other Ford models means the engine line-up will be familiar. Initially, two diesels (a 1.8 and 2.0-litre) and three petrols (a 1.6, 2.0 and a 2.5 turbo) will be available.
