New Honda CR-V lined up for Paris debut

Date: 12 September 2006

Honda will reveal its new CR-V at the Paris motor show later this month, ahead of the new model's arrival in the UK next January.

It's powered by either a new 150PS 2.0-litre petrol engine, developed from the 1.8-litre used in the Civic hatchback, or the 140PS 2.2-litre diesel used in the current CR-V as well as Honda's Accord and Civic.

The new 4x4 has a 35mm lower centre of gravity and is wider to help improve handling, which the Japanese brand claims will make a driving experience as good as a family saloon car.

Technological developments such as adaptive cruise control and the company's pre-crash safety system are also available for the first time in the segment, while Honda is predicting a five-star Euro NCAP performance, along with impressive child occupant and pedestrian results.
