Primastar engines meet Euro4 standard

Date: 26 October 2006   |   Author: John Mahoney

Euro4 engine updates have brought a raft of improvements to Nissan's Primastar range.

The mid-sized panel van gains the slightest of facelifts, receiving new lamps and a tough, larger rear bumper, but the real improvements lie under the bonnet.

Responding to stringent emissions legislation, the full Primastar range now meets the Euro4 standard. Nissan has also chosen to add an all-new diesel 2.0-litre engine, available in 90 or 115Ps variants, that's been tuned to give "tremendous low speed lugging ability".

Inside, the cabin standard spec is up. Base E trim gains standard CD player and steering wheel controls plus a trip computer, as well as a remote locking fob that can unlock one door individually at a time. Stepping up to SE brings ABS, electric windows and power mirrors.

Nissan has also introduced Comfort, Safety and Technology packs.

The £800 Comfort pack brings aircon, front fogs plus auto wipers and auto lamps, while the £1250 Technology package introduces satnav and aircon.

Opting for Safety adds ESP front fogs and a passenger airbag for £500.

Prices begin at £13,923 rising to £18,223 for a high roof 150PS Primastar SE.
